Berjaya Megamall Kuantan

While many consider Kuantan to be the most modern town in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, you find that in comparison to the shopping centers and malls on the west coast, Kuantan is still lacking behind. However if you are living in that area you will have to make do with what you have after all beggars can’t be choosers right?

There are many ways of getting to Kuantan if you plan to drive there from Kuala Lumpur you can use the scenic East Coast Expressway which will take you about two and a half hour. If you are not up to the long drive you can opt to take the airplane from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Kuantan Airport. Airasia does not fly to Kuantan so the only option for travelers at this time is only Malaysian Airlines, when you have arrived at the airport you can take the taxi to the city centre it will take approximately 15-20 minutes for you to reach there. However if you do plan to drive it will take you approximately about 4 hours from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan via the inland Karak-Highway.

Driving to Kuantan will definitely offer you a very unique experience as you pass through the scenic views that you will only find at the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia and if you have the opportunity be sure to stop at the historic towns to experience its charm and wonder.

One of the few establishments in Kuantan that is fast gain popularity is that of Berjaya Megamall located on Jalan Tun Ismail. The shopping complex is also surrounded by rows of shop houses, banks, hotels, clinics, restaurants and so on making it very convenient for shoppers. It is one of the more modern chopping centers in Kuantan and this multi-storey building houses a variety of shops and outlets that sells a wide selection of items making it a truly one stop shopping destination.

The mall also houses of large selection of food outlets ranging from small ice-cream parlors to franchise fast food outlets such as McDonalds, Pizza Hut and so on. If you are in the mood for local delicacies the shopping complex also have a variety of F&B outlets that serve that type of food. At the Berjaya Megamall you can also find specialty shops that sell branded watches, shoes, jewelries, dress boutiques and other leather goods.

There are also tenants at the mall that you would normally find in other regions of Malaysia such as Vincci, Bonia, Parkson Grand, Giorsardi, Watcons and Body shop that sell their respective items. However you should take note that the selection of items at these stores may not be as much as you would find when compared to the stores that are located in Kuala Lumpur. But if you are the branded conscious buyer then the items that can be found at the stores should suffice as you have that Kuantan has only begun to develop.
Berjaya Megamall also houses the Tesco supermarket chain where you can but household items as well as food stuff at very affordable prices. The supermarket is located at the first floor level of the building and also situated there is the Parkson outlet.

On the fifth floor of the shopping complex you will be able to find a Cineplex that has become popular for the youths staying in the Kuantan area. The cinema caters to a variety of target audiences as they show the latest English films from Hollywood as well as movies of different languages such as Chinese, Hindi and even local film productions.

Another activity that is fast gaining popularity in Kuantan is that of bowling and you will be able to find the bowling alley at the shopping complex. Tournaments and meets are normally held here and even the very popular annual Fiesta Media Idola where Malaysian celebrities come together to bowl is also held here.
